I use the Orijen Large Puppy for my Curly Coated Retriever pups. It is well accepted and gives my dogs a steady, stable growth rate. We have had no incidents of panosteitis, even the big male puppies, and the coats are gorgeous. It would be nice if it was available locally, but I have found it to be worth every penny.

With the increased fat levels I saw a great improvement in my mastiffs coat. Yes, there is a lot of protien. Please research this before you write this food off as current research shows high calcium levels and over feeding = rapid weight gain and orthopedic problems. This protien comes from excellent sources and calcium levels are perfect. I have no issues other than the smelliest gas ever- my dog even thinks so; I can clear him out of a room. Just kidding; it's the other way around.

My English mastiff pup was not gaining as much weight as the vet wanted. This is hard to believe, and with all my mastiffs have never encountered this. His previous food was premium; he was having to eat about 8 cups per day. With concerns of bloat and needing a more calorie dense food, we switched to Orijen. I can say his dandruff is gone; muscles are more defined and we are getting a little fat cover :) Initially, I was protein shy due to everything you hear reagarding giant breeds. Further reading and research seems to support low calcium levels and controlled food amount to prevent orthopedic problems. A dog can become overweight and have bone/joint issues on a 24% protein dog food or a 40% protein food; I believe the amount fed is key. Regarding the value, I believe it is fair priced. I do not have to supplement omega's for a great coat or probiotics for digestion. When I add up the cost of everything that is already there (in levels that help), I am pleased. Now, if they lowered the price, I would not object :)

Amazing food that goes beyond just filling your dog's stomach. Has probiotics to keep stools hard. The high protein content is ideal for large breed puppies. The low calcium is ideal to control the growth. Has all kinds of expensive herbs and botanicals to help your dog live long and happy. Only thing is that it is very expensive.[...] I hope they never get rid of that.

I feed 2 times a day.
My puppies coats are great. nice shineing coats. I have one pup that can't eat anything else but Orgien. It helps with the digestive system and they will not have the runs with orgien.It gives them the engen that they need as puppies to help build strong mulses and bones.
I haven't founf anything that is not great about.
